Introduction
Impala uses cutting-edge technology to make connecting to hotel data much faster, more secure, and significantly cheaper for both hotels and technology providers. Impala retrieves data from a hotel’s Property Management System (PMS) and transmits it to the relevant software or hardware via our secure data storage facility in Frankfurt, Germany.
The technology Impala uses to read data from a PMS varies depending on the Property Management System. We have 3 main methods of retrieving data.
Reporting
With Oracle’s Opera property management system, we require a number of reports to be set up in the system (using the commonplace and frequently used Report Scheduler). These reports are then sent securely to the Impala Data Centre and we analyse them to create the data that software and hardware providers require.
Impala Data reader
We also have the Impala data reader which is a minimum-footprint database reader installed on-premise (usually on the PMS server) that queries the database a hotel runs on at regular intervals, our data reader integrate with hotel data for hotels running on Suite8 and Protel PMS.
Direct Integrations
Finally, where PMS providers adhere to the strict security and viability requirements Impala has set, Impala uses official APIs. As such as we have been able to build a direct integration to Guestline, Mews and Clock PMS.
GDPR compliant
Finally, Impala has also been GDPR compliant since day one, and take actions to implement these measures in its products by engaging in security by design practices. You can review our full GDPR compliance details here: Is Impala GDPR compliant?
